Malaysia Entry Permit MEP

Malaysia represents one of Asia’s top business hubs, a constantly developing economy on the cusp of advanced technological and infrastructural improvement. Furthermore, the intake of highly skilled professionals all over the world has aided Malaysian organizations tremendously.

However, in the event of a foreign national intending to permanently enter and reside in Malaysia, an approved Malaysian Entry Permit issued in the form of a document is required.

L&H Group offers application assistance as well as consultation services for foreign nationals or expatriates looking to acquire a Malaysian Entry Permit.

There currently exists five categories for Malaysian Entry Permit applications, being:

● Investors and Experts

– Applicants will need to have a Fixed Deposit of minimum USD2 million in any Malaysian bank. The withdrawal should only be allowed after 5 years.

– Spouses and children (below the age of 18) of the applicants will be granted a Permanent Resident document after 5 years of living in Malaysia.

● Experts

– Applicants require a letter of recommendation from a relevant agency in Malaysia.

– Applicants are required to submit a Certificate of Good Conduct from the country of origin.

● Highly Skilled Professionals

– Applicants require a letter of recommendation from a relevant agency in Malaysia.
– Applicants are required to submit a Certificate of Good Conduct from the country of origin.
– Applicants must be working in a Malaysian company/organization for a minimum period of 3 years.

● Spouse to Malaysian Citizen

– Applicants must have been married to a Malaysian citizen for a minimum 5 years.
– Applicants must have previously been issued a Long Term Visit Pass and have stayed in Malaysia for more than 5 years.
– Applicants are required to have at least one (1) Malaysian sponsor.

● Point Based System

– Open to all foreign nationals
– The minimum passing mark is 65/120 points to be considered granted an entry permit.
– Applicants are required to submit a Certificate of Good Conduct from the country of origin.
– Applicants are required to have at least one (1) Malaysian sponsor.

When an applicant is granted an approved Malaysia Entry Permit, they will be entitled to:

● Stay and remain in Malaysia for an unlimited time.

● Legally carry out employment in Malaysia.

● Legally acquire property in Malaysia.

● Be exempted from all Visa and Immigration requirements to enter and exit Malaysia.
