Long Term Visa Pass LTVP

A Malaysian Long-Term Visa Pass (LTVP) is a renewable document issued to spouses/family members of Employment Pass (EP) holders who are wishing to stay in Malaysia for a period longer than six months (maximum five years). This is also known as a Malaysian Spouse Visa.

Eligibility for a Long-Term Visa Pass (LTVP) include:

● The foreign national spouse of a Malaysian citizen.

● Foreign nationals seeking medical treatment in Malaysia (allowed one companion).

● Family members of foreign national Employment Pass (EP) holders, including:

● Common-law spouse

● Children over 21 (unmarried)

● Parents or parent-in laws

It should be noted that family members of Employment Pass (EP) holders possessing LTVP documents are not allowed to work in Malaysia. In the event of employment in Malaysia, the visa holder will need to apply for a separate Employment Pass and adhere to the necessary procedures.

However, spouses of Malaysian citizens are not required to change their LTVP into an Employment Pass (EP). In this case, an approved Endorsement to Work document in their passport will be given by the Malaysian Immigration Department, free of charge.
